New members are welcome to join our club, if you are a beginner you will need to complete our 3 week induction course.

The cost for new members is £10 per session, once you have completed your three week induction course, you will need to become a member of the club and the cost is then £6 for Ystradgynlais or £8 for Penlan sessions. You’ll receive the difference when you join the club (ie, you’ll get £12 discount on membership if you attended Ystrad, and £6 discount if you attended Penlan).

During your first three weeks our instructors will take you through the basics of kayaking, including how to safely exit your kayak, paddling techniques, support strokes and self rescue.

If you’d like to get involved in Whitewater Kayaking we will first teach you the skills you’ll need in the pool, and we run trips on local rivers whenever the weather allows.

If you can already paddle, you will need to complete a capsize drill supervised by an instructor in your first pool session.
